“Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”
EPHESIANS 4:23
When
we embrace the Cross in our thought life we will see that our own
thinking is limited, and at times, completely the opposite of God’s
thoughts. We will readily see that our
opinions, our prejudices, our very point of view, all need radical
transformation. We will see how untrustworthy and unpredictable our
mind, will and emotions can be apart from God.
As
we submit ourselves to the Cross we see that God does not turn us into
unthinking, unfeeling creatures of wood or stone; instead, He renews and
transforms our mind so that our thoughts reflect His thoughts, and our
mind reflects His mind. We will no longer be
carried away by our emotions or find false comfort in our superior
intellect. Our thoughts will be submitted to His wisdom and will assist
us in understanding His Will and His Ways.
