“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
PSALM 23:4
God
ordains
that He will walk with us through death. He does not take us around it,
or over it, or under it. He does not send us to walk it alone. But He
walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death.
This
is more prophetic than you may realize, for this “valley of the shadow
of death” is a reference to the Cross. We fear no evil because the One
Who calls us to take up the Cross is right there with us, comforting us
with His rod and staff. This death will be the end of something, but it
will also be the beginning of something – for death in the Irresistible
Kingdom is never the end of the story, it is only the beginning of a new
chapter.
