Leave the Past Behind
My child, don't look back, but look forward this day, says the Lord. The past has gone and a new day has dawned. I am doing a new thing in your life and in your ministry, says the Lord. Don't be distracted by what happened in the past. Be courageous and bold, and step forward.Ê
I have placed an open door
before you that no man can shut. So step forward boldly and be unafraid.
The enemy is the one who wants you to feel all guilty and full of shame
about what lies behind you. He is the one who wants you to be afraid
and full of doubt and defeat. Don't allow him to sneak in and trip you
up, but be the strong warrior I have called you to be.
Stand in my image and revel in
my promises that I have given to you. For I have given you good plans.
Plans of a future that are filled with faith, hope, and love. You are my
beloved child, and there is nothing I delight in more than to shower
you with blessings.
Overcome the wiles of the enemy
by raising your hands in praise and by shutting the door behind you.
Look forward I say, and take my hand in total trust. Amen.
